حلزون غول پیکر آفریقایی بزرگترین حلزون روی زمین

حلزون غول پیکر آفریقایی که به حلزون ببری نیز مشهور است بزرگترین گونه این جاندار بر روی کره زمین به حساب می آید . این موجود خاص در جنگل های بومی کشور غنا در آفریقا زندگی می کند و تقریبا مانند همه گاستروپودها پوسته محکم و غیر قابل نفوذی دارد . پوسته این جانور 18 سانتی متر طول و گاهی تا 9 سانتیمتر قطر دارد . از آن جایی که هر یک از این حلزون ها سالانه 1200 تخم می گذارد رشد بیش از حد این گونه جانوری مشکلات زیادی را در زیستگاه طبیعی جنگل های غنا بوجود آورده است
